Dr. Peter Johnson joins APIE-Therapeutics as a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Johnson practiced reconstructive surgery for ten years at the University of Pittsburgh where he founded and was the first President of the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative. Subsequent roles were co-founder/CEO of Tissue Informatics, Inc., CMO and CBO at Icoria, Inc., EVP at Entegrion, Inc. and VP, R&D and Medical/Scientific Affairs at Vancive Medical Technologies (Avery Dennison). He was President of the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Association and of the Tissue Engineering Society-International.
He is currently Co-Founder and Principal of MedSurgPI providing clinical and commercialization expertise to biopharma and life sciences companies. He is actively involved and serving as CEO of Scintellix, LLC, Beacon Biotherapeutics, and Cell X Technologies, and CMO of Microcures, Inc and Praetego, Inc. He is also a member of various BODs including the Board of NC Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society, Siegel Rare Neuroimmune Association, Plakous Therapeutics, Inc., and Opsepio Therapeutics, Inc. In addition, a member of the Industrial Advisory Board of UNC/NC State Joint Program in Bioengineering, Industrial Technology Advisory Board of the Michigan-Pittsburgh-Wyss Regenerative Medicine Resource Center and Advisory Board for SonoVol, LLC. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill / NCSU, Duke University and Regenerative Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Dr. Peter Johnson holds an MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University.
